  • Welcome to our blog!

We are Brooke and Eric, husband and wife, the photographers, the passionate and fun loving team, the BE in Be Creative! Our job is to document the happiest moments of peoples lives. The purpose of this blog is to share some of our favorite images and acknowledge the wonderful people we get to meet. Eric was named one of the top photographers in the world by the WPJA and Brooke is also an international award-winner. But most importantly we love what we do, the people we get to know, and we hope it shows through our work. This blog is brand spanking new as of 2010. We have many years of work cataloged on our old blog too so please go take a peak.

Johanna and Mike had a beautiful, action packed wedding at the breathtaking Tribeca Rooftop in New York City. Take a look at some of their favorite images of the day. We just loved everything about them. From their undeniable adoration of each other, to the gorgeous decor, and the amazing dance and drum performance – this wedding knocked our socks off. Congratulations to a wonderful couple!  Thank you for choosing Be Creative Photography

Dear Friends,

Spring Break is here, YIPPIE!  Don’t suffer from stay-cation boredom.  We have some great ideas for you and the little ones. How about a picnic at a beautiful arboretum with trails, bridges, fountains, gardens and more? Or a nature adventure at a gorgeous botanical garden with plenty of trees to climb, fields to run free, flowers to wow, and butterflies to chase?

We’d love to take you there for a fun afternoon that will be sure to delight you and the kids. And the best part is that we will document the whole adventure by taking beautiful pictures along the way.

So make a date with us, pack a blanket, your sun hat, butterfly catchers and LETS GO!

Best part about this invitation is that with these photos you will have a jump start on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts for your loved ones. Your husband and wife will love how you chose to spend a day of your vacation!  And the memories will be priceless.

Now, the not so good news.  Spring Break was like yesterday. There are only so many days in a weeks vacation so please don’t hesitate to call us and book your session as there are only a few spots available!

As if all of these reasons weren’t good enough to book an afternoon with Be Creative, here is one more!  The Spring Fairy has dropped off three $100 gift certificates that we can’t wait to give away.

We hope to hear from you soon and we can’t wait to reveal our Spring Break destinations. This offer expires April 20th!

Gabi’s Bat Mitzvah at Gustavinos in NYC

Mazel Tov to Gabi. It was an honor to be a part of your special day and create these memories for you!  You are such a warm and sweet girl. Best wishes for a very bright future! Over the years our photography repertoire has expanded beyond weddings and families. We began photographing Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s years ago, thinking we’d do a few here and there.  However, this area of the business is in high demand and we suddenly have found ourselves photographing tons of Mitzvah’s every year. Every Mitzvah session begins with a family session focusing on the child of honor.  The images from this session are often used to decorate the party itself.  They also become a wonderful keepsake for the entire family.  Below are some of the shots taken of Gabi and her family in Central Park.

Photography is usually not permitted during the ceremony if it is being held in a temple.  Some families opt to have a mini session before the ceremony begins. In other cases the ceremony is performed on location of the party itself and for those the entire ceremony is photographed.
The party is just plain AWESOME!  It’s very much like a wedding.  The free spirit of the 12 and 13 year old kids is infectious and before you know it the adults are out on the dance floor shakin it to Gaga and Black Eyed Peas.  It’s just so much fun! The decor of this event was stunning, thanks to uber talented event planner Nancy from N Event Productions.

Amy + Jeff’s Wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion

Amy and Jeff’s wedding was vibrant, joyful, authentic, stylish and everything one could wish for. We are so happy they chose Be Creative to photograph their wedding. Tappan Hill Mansion never disappoints. A venue that has it all; top notch catering by Abigail Kirsch, a beautiful terrace for the ceremony that overlooks the Hudson River, and fantastic ballroom settings for dinner and dancing!  We shot their 8 times last year and it never gets old! (Check out Danielle and Rob‘s Wedding also at Tappen Hill,)

Check out what Amy and Jeff had to say after the wedding. We just love getting letter like this!  Thank you guys!

What is so special is that your photographs really brought back amazing memories, exactly what great pictures should be able to do. When looking through the photos, the emotions, joy and love of that day all came flooding back to us. All our family and friends have so far shared the same sentiments. We are so lucky to have worked with you. There were even times when we were looking at them, when we asked ourselves… was this all really our wedding? Those people really looked like they had a blast at this wedding!!!

We can’t believe it’s 2012!

Happy New Year to all of our blog readers, if there are any of you left!?!  It seems that facebook is where most of you hang out so we have become much more active there.  Please join our facebook page to keep in touch!

We just cannot believe that it is the year 2012! How did this happen? It seems that our wedding which was in 2005 was only a heartbeat away. Yet during that time so much has happened. We moved out of Hoboken, became suburbanites with the purchase of our first home, added our beloved pup Maggie to the family, traveled to various hot spots around the world, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who is now TWO, and of course we are celebrating our 7th year in the business.  So how is it that our wedding seems only a heartbeat away when all of this has happened? It just goes to show you how important and memorable your wedding day is. We are honored to capture these memories for so many people, our wonderful clients! We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support and love for our photography!

If you haven’t seen it yet, here is our 2011 Holiday Card.  I had to share it because I kinda LOOOOOVE IT!!!

And here are some photos of us taken on Christmas Eve! We rarely have pictures of ourselves so I had to post this phenomenon!

Best wishes to you all for an amazing, happy, peaceful, love-filled year!

Sincerely,
Brooke and Eric Lagstein
